Lighting: I chose to play around with the lighting of a lamp. The lamp was located straight on the object to provide a shadow in the background. It also gave the object more of a mysterious, interesting look to it. The lighting affected my image in an artistic way because it was as if the spot light was on the object and it's characteristics.
Texture: The texture of the object was already interesting to begin with. It has a rough but fascinating feel to it. I feel using an element such as texture gave a statue and almost modern look to my object. Adding life to the texture of the object brought out the unique ridges and color of the piece of artwork.
Balance: I chose to use symmetrical balance because I found it interesting. I felt looking at it symmetrically would bring out the expression of the object much more. The expression is a smirk and looking at it twice made it seem approachable. It also made it seem like a real teddy bear and it allowed to smile become larger.
Focal Point: The focal point is probably the most important element, in my opinion. It is the element that catches the audience's eye. It allows the photographer to tell a story about what he/she wants to be told. I feel it gives the photographer power over what they think is most important in the photograph. I felt using this element gave me a chance to show more of a surrounding but still capture the main object. My object stood out using this element.
